Say Bye To Lice

Head lice are an organism  that can be discover  on the heads and hair of people. Infection with head lice is called pediculosis .Head lice infection is very common. It is calculated up to one in every 10 children in school obtain head lice at some time. In one study, the calculated annual cost of head lice infestations in the United States was nearly $1 billion dollars.
  • A child can contract head lice in a number of ways.
  • Contact with an already infested person. Personal contact is common during play, school, or sports activities, and at school, home, slumber parties, or camp
  • Wearing infested clothing, such as hats, scarves, coats, sports uniforms, or hair ribbons.
  • Using infested combs, brushes, or towels.
  • Lying on a bed, couch, pillow, carpet, or stuffed animal that has recently been in contact with a person with lice
  • There are three following  forms of lice.
  • Nit: Nits are lice eggs. Nits are hard to see and are often confused with dandruff .
  • Nymph: The nit hatches into a baby louse called a nymph. It looks like an adult head louse but is smaller.
  • Adult: The adult louse is about the size of a sesame seed, has six legs, and is tan to grayish-white in color.
Home Remedies
  • Tea tree oil is an essential oil distilled from the leaves of the Australian tea tree. Dilute oil with another oil, such as olive oil. Apply the diluted oil liberally to the hair and scalp. Cover the entire head with a shower cap or plastic wrap. Wrap a towel around the head.
  • Mayonnaise is a popular treatment for getting rid of head lice. It is affordable and safe. Apply as much mayonnaise as you can to the entire head of hair.Wrap the head tightly in plastic wrap. You can also use a shower cap.Leave the mayonnaise on the hair for at least two hours.Rinse the hair with water and vinegar (use two tablespoons of vinegar for each cup of water). The vinegar will help remove the mayonnaise.
